After being a “stay at home mom” for years, she went back to work teaching in Douglas County schools, Sunshine Village Preschool, and Family of Christ Preschool. She then taught music for 2 years at a charter school in Widefield, CO. She feels very fortunate to have been hired as the K-5 music teacher at MA which is a much shorter commute. Suzy loves teaching at MA because “our students are respectful and have good character.” She also thinks the students at MA are very creative, talented, and lend new ideas to the music program.

After graduating from Bethany Global University with a B.A. in Missions and Biblical Studies, she married a classmate and they worked together in Honduras, Ecuador and Costa Rica for several years. After moving to Colorado in 1993, her husband’s career as an international director afforded her the opportunity to travel with him extensively; of the 21 officially Spanish-speaking countries, she has spent time in 19. These experiences and familiarity with various cultures provide extra depth to her Spanish and character lessons. Raising 3 children has given her extra insight as well. Janette is excited to share her knowledge and build relationships with the middle school students at M.A.
