Statement from Monument Academy Board of Directors
We are deeply saddened by the loss of beloved Monument Academy Principal, Charles Richardson, “Mr. R.”, who passed away on August 4, 2021.
Mr. R.’s devotion to Monument Academy was evident to all who knew him. He was proud of the school and worked tirelessly to ensure a safe and loving environment for our students. A passionate educator, he loved to tell tales of his connection with kids, including being slimed, dunked, or getting a pie in the face. It is without question that he will be deeply missed by students, staff, and Board members alike.
Mr. R’s greatest love was for his family and he always spoke with pride and admiration for his wife and children. Our hearts go out to his wife, Michele, and two children, Amy and Daniel, and all who were touched by his life.
Although we will always wish for more time, we are incredibly grateful for the service and dedication Charlie Richardson gave to Monument Academy. He will be deeply missed.
Out of respect for the family, please allow time and space for all to grieve. We will be communicating with our MA family over the coming weeks and months.
