Kelly Collier has been the Librarian at Monument Academy since 2009. She is the Battle of Books coordinator for D38 and the school. She is passionate about books and children having skills, knowledge and information to understand the world around them.
She was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Colorado State University, Kelly wrote and produced programs for the university and for Ft. Collins Cablevision. She then worked for Denver’s KMGH-7, an ABC affiliate running Chyron Infinite for the nightly newscasts until 1999.
After moving to Monument, her son attended MA kindergarten through 8th grade. It was during her years of volunteering on PTO, BAAC, and other committees that she discovered her love of working with children and teachers and she pursued a second career as a Librarian.
Kelly started the Landshark Running program at MA and coached girls’ volleyball. She was also the NJHS adviser for 5 years.
When she’s not at school or reading, you will find her doing one of her other many favorite pursuits with family and friends.
