Carpool/Carline Information

Carline DO’s & DON’TS

The entire staff appreciates you taking the time to review procedures for car line. As safety is our primary concern, here are a few reminders:

Dos

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat.

  • DO RESPECT OUR NEIGHBORS: The church leadership and Premier Vision have asked specifically for MA parents and staff to not park in their parking spaces at any time.
  • DO HAVE A SIGN IN YOUR VEHICLE: That displays at least the last name of the student and preferably the grade and teacher.
  • DO NOT MAKE U-TURNS IN CAR LINE
  • DO PULL ALL THE WAY FORWARD: When dropping off or picking up your students.
  • DO PARK IN APPROVED SPACES ONLY
  • DO ALWAYS USE THE CROSSWALK
  • DO PUT DOWN YOUR CELL PHONE: We need your full and focused attention.
  • DO PAY ATTENTION TO ANNOUNCEMENTS DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER,
  • DO HAVE PATIENCE: It is a virtue and greatly appreciated.

Don'ts

Staggered pick-up times require a high level of coordination among parents to ensure that everyone follows the assigned schedule. If some parents consistently arrive outside their designated time slots, it can disrupt the entire system. Parents may have varying schedules and commitments, making it challenging for them to adhere strictly to fixed pick-up times.

  • DO NOT MAKE U-TURNS IN CAR LINE
  • DO NOT DRIVE IN THE WRONG LANES to get around traffic.
  • DO NOT MAKE LEFT TURNS ONTO HWY 105

THANK YOU FROM THE ENTIRE MA STAFF!

Carline FAQs

No.  Please do not park in the parking lots of these businesses under any circumstances.  They have asked us specifically to inform you that their lots are not for daily use of picking up your child.  Using the carline drop off and pick up system is the most efficient way to get your child to and from school.

The first two weeks of school, you will want to allow for a few extra minutes to get through carline from the time you arrive to campus.  After the routine settles in, arrive to campus at least 10 minutes prior to the start of school.  This allows 5 minutes to proceed through carline and 5 minutes for your child to get from your vehicle to their desk.

The implemented carline procedures aim to reduce congestion at the newly constructed one lane roundabout located at Knollwood Drive and Village Ridge Point. This traffic flow also assists our MA community neighbors, Premier Vision and Integrity Bank’s entrance and exit of their parking lots.

Monument Academy is able to cue more vehicles by having our MA Community go behind the school first. The collaboration between Monument Academy Administration and El Paso County Traffic Engineers determined the traffic flow for Phase 3. A goal was to alleviate congestion on Highway 105. This congestion will continue to improve once Highway 105 construction has moved away from Monument Academy.

A “No Right Turn on Red” sign is posted on HWY 105 when turning North on Knollwood Boulevard. Monument Academy have no authority over that intersection, so please adhere to traffic laws and regulations.

7:30 a.m. We open the building for students to enter.
2:45 p.m. on M-Th. We will allow cars to start queuing up for dismissal.
11:45 a.m. queuing up for dismissal time on Friday

Volunteer Parent Driver Registration

Monument Academy does not have consistent access to bus service to transport students to offsite, school sponsored activities/events, so we rely on our parent volunteers and MA staff members to help us get our students where they need to be!  If you would be willing to volunteer to help us provide transportation to our students so that they may participate in off-site, school-sponsored activities/events, you MUST fill out the Volunteer Parent Driver Registration form.

Thank you!
