Pamela Brocklehurst was born in Canada and moved to Colorado after graduating from Calvin University in 1998. She has always been drawn to special education due to a cousin who had special needs and a son who needs assistance with reading and writing. She is pursuing her Master’s in Special Education. Pamela has been involved in education for over 20 years as PreK teacher, business administrator, substitute teacher and ESS para. She received her licensure to work as an ESS teacher summer of 2022 and is excited about the opportunity to work at Monument Academy. Pamela has been married to her best friend since 1996 and they have four amazing children. Her hobbies include crocheting, photography, hiking and playing games with her family.

Diane Andrew was born in South Florida and made Colorado her family’s home in 2018. She began her career as a special education teacher in 2013 after being inspired by her own child’s journey in special education. Soon after becoming a teacher, student engagement using evidence-based behavior principles became a professional passion for Diane. She earned her Masters of Education in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University in the fall of 2021; and she will sit the exam to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the fall of 2022. Diane looks forward to applying the knowledge she has gained to support Monument Academy’s learners. Outside of school, Diane resides on a hobby ranch with her family in rural El Paso county, just a few miles east of MA’s secondary campus! She has two high school aged children who have grown up caring for the family’s two horses, four goats, six chickens, two dogs, and three barn cats!

Carrie started volunteering in the counseling department at Monument Academy in 2015 and presently is the school’s Social Worker. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida in Psychology, Master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas San Antonio, and is a licensed Social Worker with the state of Colorado. Carrie brings many years of experience and enthusiasm to the students and staff at Monument Academy. She has a long history working with children and adolescents in the areas of crisis intervention, running elementary and middle school groups, developing, and maintaining mental health programs. Her focus has been on anger management and suicide awareness as well as working with high-risk adolescents and teaching them social and life skills.
Carrie has been married since 1999, she and her husband have 5 daughters with 4 of them attending Monument Academy and the other previously acting in a teaching capacity. They have been a part of the military community for the last 19 years, have lived in many places and are happy to call Monument home! Carrie enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, watching her girls play soccer, basketball, gymnastics, cheer, and track while creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Kelly Sivess was born in Okinawa. She lived in Maryland and England before settling in Colorado in 4th grade. Kelly earned her Bachelors of English with an emphasis in Elementary Education in 2004. She has been a substitute teacher, a preschool teacher, and has taught 5th grade. Kelly’s passion is reading, and she began coursework towards a Masters degree in Reading at Regis University. Kelly married her amazing husband in 2007, and they were blessed with two incredible children. After staying home with her kids and then moving to Monument, Kelly began her work as an ESS Para at Monument Academy in 2018. She loves to help her students grow and become more confident learners. In her free time Kelly enjoys reading, hiking with her two goldendoodles, listening to music, spending time with her family, and cheering on the Denver Broncos.

Meghan joined the Monument Academy staff in August of 2021 as a Counselor in the ESS department. Born and raised in Oklahoma, she received her Master’s of Education in Community Counseling from the University of Oklahoma. Boomer Sooner! Meghan is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience in outpatient therapy, residential treatment facilities, group homes, day treatment, school-based services, partial hospitalization, and therapeutic foster care. Meghan has been providing services and developing innovative programs for children and adolescents with severe mental health and behavioral problems since 2004.
Meghan and her family moved from Norman, Oklahoma to Colorado Springs in December of 2020. Living in Colorado has been a longtime dream and the family enjoys exploring all it has to offer. She has four children, all of whom attend MA, and they love playing sports, hiking, skiing, fishing, and just spending time together.

Sarah Thompson was born in Southern California and moved to Monument, CO in 1991. She graduated from Lewis Palmer High School and went on to get her degree in nursing. After working in the nursing field for several years, an opportunity arose to work with some very special students in the ESS department at Monument Academy. Sarah jumped at the prospect of changing career paths and has truly enjoyed working in the ESS department since 2011. She is a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner and has her WRS Level 1 Certification. In addition to teaching, she is also the head cheer coach at MA. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching movies, singing, photography, and spending time with her amazing family.

Allison Wise has taught K – 8th grade English Learners at Monument Academy, part time and then full time, since 2008. She is also the coach of the MA Matchwits Team. Originally from California, Allison has lived in Monument since 2005. Starting at San Diego State University, Allison graduated from Cal State Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics. She has taught English as a Second Language to adults, teens & children since 1996. Other accomplishments include appearing on Jeopardy! (twice) and hiking the Incline (once). Besides reading, Allison’s hobbies are genealogy research and hiking with her husband and two children.
